Science Club with Applemore staff

We are really grateful to Miss Parvin and Mr Hearmon from Applemore College for coming to Orchard this week to lead a club session . Our focus was magnetism and static electricity. There were so many hands-on experiments. It was brilliant fun and I think you will see how much fun we had from the photos! Next week is the final session for this group; we will be visiting Noadswood after school, returning at 4.20pm.

Science Club session 3 - Birds of Prey

Science club today saw us welcome Amews Falconry to the school where Paul (Lord Montagu's falconer) showed us a peregrine falcon, an eagle owl, a kestrel, and a broad-winged hawk. The children asked many interesting questions and were fascinated by these magnificent raptors and the evolutionary adaptations evidenced by each birdImage result for eagle owl

Science Club with Prof. and Dr Langdon

We are so grateful to Prof and Dr Langdon for leading us through an excellent science club session . We were fossil detectives, pollen detectives and soil detectives! I am still buzzing from all the new things that I have picked up today! You asked the most amazingly well thought through questions. We were all very impressed.

See you next week- we will be extracting our DNA and making pendants!
